Did you all know I love the Alien franchise?

Set back

Smith Creative Industries

So I started the SCI project to keep me engaged and moving forward with creativity and passion. It worked great for the first two weeks.  I was steaming along (albeit slowly), and a few things happened.

My current employer did a large wave of layoffs removing a large amount of the workforce. I was not affected directly but it was a huge disruption in my life. I hurt my foot when I was running and had to stay off it for two weeks, which for me was terrible as I do my best to walk 9000-10000 steps a day and its also when i get time to myself for additional creative time. Our personal lives got very busy, including both mine and my wife's birthdays and a week-long vacation that was just the two of us no kids. I got extremely sick 3 weeks ago and I still can't seem to kick it. Finally my computer, with all my notes and programs burned up.

So this week I am getting things back on track. I have purchased a new computer and moved my harddrive over to it. I have to reinstall many of the programs I planned on using and its not that big of a deal but it will take time.

I plan to have a VO ready to go with the film to start the rough of it.

Music - Man in the Mirror

I often listen to Michael Jackson because his songs are just so darn Catchy.  I was listening on youtube and it suggested " Man in the Mirror" from the "Bad" album. Man its great. If you needed some self motivation I suggest giving it a listen.

Dieing Easter Eggs

Son (4): Yeah let's kill em
Wife: Not die, dye. To change its color.
Son: ohhhhh

Ways to not sell me a timeshare

Ways to not sell me a timeshare:
  1. Be subtly racist
  2. Talk about how much you hate your side job
  3. Get mad because we wanted a free vacation
  4. Tell us about how bad your month has been
  5. Tell us your not going to use car salesmen techniques, then go and "check with your boss" about a better price
  6. Tell us there are no more offers and take us to another room with offers
  7. Tell me that the only way to make money is to screw the people that work for you

Music - Richard and Lisa - Hushabye Mountain

A music haunting version of this lullaby. Very cool. If you need a melancholy inspiration.

Creativity 2

Things have slowed a bit since my last update.I hurt my foot pretty bad and was unable to really move around, I got the flu which knocked me out for a week, and there are some real life things happening that have been very distracting.

Worked with the wife on the story I wanted to tell. She doesn't really care for poems, stories, puzzles, or anything that I like to do for her. (Its just one of those things). However she did like the story that I wrote and gave me some grammar edits which is what I really needed.

I am hoping to have the story finalized in the next two weeks.

Music- Pistol Shrimp Heart

I first heard this song at an Alamo Draft House in Austin Texas.  My friend Max and I were in the area for work and were seeing "Battle of the 5 Armies". Something about this song really captures my imagination and I have no idea why. I suggest listening to it in the dark.
